I provide a safe, supportive and professional environment in which you will have the opportunity for personal growth and to make the changes you are seeking. Through discussion, we will identify the nature and the source of the difficulties you are having. We will make a plan, which will include treatment goals, for our work together.

I believe that the choices we make in our lives are shaped by many influences. Some of these influences include our family of origin, current relationships, experiences we’ve had, genetics, our physical health, and our thoughts, which affect our feelings. We will explore all of these influences.

My primary treatment modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; which means we will spend time focusing on how your thoughts and beliefs affect your feelings and behaviors. With children, adolescents and families, my approach is also Family Systems based, which takes into account the way family members affect one another. When working with couples, I draw from the ideas and techniques of many different sources, including John Gottman, Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy, and my own personal experience with over 20 years of marriage.

All of the work that we do together will be kept confidential. I will also keep confidential the fact that you contacted me at all.
